A finished clean is easy to judge if you know where to look. Check the window sills and the tops of door frames, run a finger along a baseboard, and look at a glass door with light behind it. Those are the places a rushed job skips, and they are what we check before we call a job done.
Post renovation cleaning takes more than one pass
Drywall sanding makes a very fine dust. This dust gets everywhere. It gets inside cabinets, on top of door frames, into light fixtures, and down the vents. We vacuum it off first. We never wipe it with a wet cloth right away, because a wet cloth on that dust makes a paste. The paste dries into streaks.
The first pass takes most of it. More settles out of the air overnight, so a post renovation clean often needs a second visit once the dust has come down.
Empty rooms are the easiest to clean
The best time to clean an apartment or office is before anything goes into it. Cabinets and drawers get wiped inside, the floor gets done wall to wall, and nothing has to be moved to reach behind it. Once the boxes arrive, those spots stay dirty until the next move.
